Our goal at myKindred is to assist you or you and your child(ren) to find and foster meaningful lifelong friendships. myKindreds supports both finding new friendships using a proprietary matching algorithm and/or building out your online network by inviting your friends to join. You can create groups and share with just the members of the group. All communication with your potential matches and friends are private.

Whether you are looking for play dates for your children, a book club, a golfing foursome, or supper club group, myKindred can help you find people and families who share your common interests so you can then take your friendship from being a ‘virtual’ one online to a ‘real’ one.

Privacy

We value your privacy, like we value our own. As a result, we do not share any of your information, unless you give explicit permission to do so. We default all of your information to “Private”, which means only you see it. If you want any information to be shared then you will need to change the privacy setting in your profile.

Joining myKindreds.com

Registering for the site is easy. Just provide some basic information and click “Join Now”. You will be sent a validation email to the email address you provided. Once validated, you can log in using your email address and password. Once in the site you are ready to start finding new friendships or inviting your existing friends.

Finding New Friendships

To use myKindreds to find new friends:

1. Select the myMatches tab
2. Answer some questions about yourself and what is important in the friendship you are seeking. You can always leave the questionnaire and when you return you can continue from where you left off. The questionnaire should only take a few minutes to complete.
3. Once you complete the questionnaire, we search our database for potential matches and then it is up to you whether you want to proceed with contacting your potential matches. Matches will be shown as icons on the rings for you to review and begin communicating.
4. If you are interested in one of your Matches, be sure to click “Begin Conversation”. If you don’t then you run the risk of the Match disappearing in the event you or your Match changes Match Criteria
5. Change your profile or come visit again and find new potential matches.
6. Your name is never shared with a potential match until you establish a friend relationship with your match

Inviting Friends

To invite friends:

1. Select the myKindreds -> Friends tab and select “Invite Friends”
2. You supply one or more email addresses and a personalized message and press “Send”
3. If your friend is already a user of myKindreds.com, they will receive and be notified of a friend request. If not, they will receive an email with your message and link to join myKindreds. Once they register, they will automatically be made your friend.

Groups

Groups can be created to communicate with a subset of your friends. Visit the myGroups tab to create and manage groups. Anyone can create a group and invite their friends to join. All communications are private – no one outside of the group will see any communication among group members.

Groups can have photo albums, documents, and a calendar with events.

Your Profile

What you share about yourself is completely in your control. Visit the myProfile tab to update and enhance your information and control what is visible and what is not. By default, everything is private. You can upload photos and files, change your account settings, password, change your profile icon, and update your profile information.
